I've known this moor since my childhood, back in the 1960th, when prisoners from Glasmoor Prison were still brought here to cut peat. Back then, we hard-to-tame children came to the moor with our parents. Father Dr. Peter Kaiser, a zoologist with extensive forest knowledge, knew where the shy adder basked in the sun.
